What counts as a "decision"?
A decision is any review request sent to HumanStep — one item in someone's inbox that requires a human action (approve, reject, or request changes). Once a decision is resolved, it counts against your monthly usage.
What happens if I hit my decision limit?
We'll notify you before you hit your limit. You can upgrade at any time with immediate effect. Existing pending decisions will still be reviewable — your workflow won't break mid-month.
How is this different from approving in Slack?
Slack is a chat tool — approvals get buried in threads and there's no structured data or programmatic callback. HumanStep gives every decision its own screen with typed fields, explicit outcomes, and a webhook that resumes your automation the moment someone acts.
Does it work with Make, n8n, and Zapier?
Yes. Use the HTTP module in Make or n8n, or the webhook action in Zapier, to send a decision with a callback URL. When someone acts on it, HumanStep fires the callback and your scenario resumes. No custom code needed.
Does it work with Claude, Cursor, or other AI agents?
Yes. AI agents can call HumanStep directly via MCP tools (supported in Claude Desktop, Cursor, and any MCP-compatible runtime), via the CLI in shell-based agents, or via the REST API. The agent pauses at the decision point, the human decides, and the agent continues with the outcome.
Can I try it before committing to a paid plan?
Yes — the Free plan is free forever, no credit card required. You get 50 decisions per month with all integrations included. Pro and Business plans include a free trial period so you can test at scale before paying.
Is my data secure?
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. API keys are scoped to your team and never exposed in URLs. We do not share your decision payload data with any third parties.
